This is an article of prayer for CFS Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
51 DAYS of prayer are ONGOING at the moment. From 14 February to Easter Sunday.
Please join in any time you can.
Before I wrote these prayers, it had been rare for me to pray for specifics such as those who finance Chronic Fatigue Syndrome research, or the researchers themselves, or doctors or taxpayers. It has felt very rewarding and appropriate to do so.
It can be easy to separate our lives into what is God and what isn't
God. Praying each prayer for CFS support has helped me in my intention
to include God in all things and to see God in all people, including
those that I perhaps forget to bless!
I use the term Chronic
Fatigue Syndrome, but please know that these prayers are also for those
with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, Fibromyalgia, and other chronic
illnesses with overlapping symptoms such as Lupus and Lyme disease.
Please adapt the wording as needed and open a channel through your mind and heart to allow the Love that lies behind all things to enter the world through your spiritual practice.
Thank you for being here.(To read the prayers, please click on the links or scroll down the page).
On the previous page you will find a healing prayer for CFS recovery.
We pray that people with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome get the finance they need to feel safe and to be able to maintain and improve their health.
We pray for those who are well enough to work full-time with adaptations to the work environment. We pray for employers to make this option available, and to respond to health requirements with patience and understanding.
We pray for people with CFS/ME who are well enough to work part-time. We pray they are able to find the option to do so. We pray that a part-time income is sufficient for their needs or that they are able to receive additional finance.
We pray for solopreneurs and entrepreneurs who are running a business whilst living with chronic illness.
Bless them and prosper them in all their endeavours.
We pray for financial provision for those people with CFS/ME and Fibromyalgia who are not able to work.
We bless any system of social benefit.
We bless the medical insurers.
We speak honesty, integrity, job-satisfaction and good decision-making into the lives of the people who run these organisations.
We bless the taxpayers. May they feel proud of their contribution and keen to have a society which takes care of the vulnerable.
We bless all the individuals or organisations who help someone with CFS, whether by giving time, money or thoughtfulness.
We see people with CFS, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis and Fibromyalgia feeling comfortable with receiving the financial help they need.
We see them feeling safe and cared for, with a clear sense of their dignity and their worth.
We give thanks for the Light, the Love that lies behind all things.
We hold a vision for financial provision and in this moment we rest in the knowledge that it will come to pass.
We pray for structures to be put in place so that each person with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome-ME is treated by officials with dignity and respect.
Guide relatives and friends to show kindness towards the person with CFS/ME.
Guide each person with CFS/ME to receive and enjoy the kindness and help they are given.
We see their beauty.
We see them with a clear sense of their worth.
We ask that even when the world does not give someone with CFS/ME reason for confidence, they receive confidence through their knowledge that they are part of you, part of Love itself.
We are yours and we are loved.
We lift to you in prayer the family and friends of a person diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis or Fibromyalgia.
We offer you any distress they feel about the pain they see this person going through.
We offer you any anxiety they feel about their own ability to cope.
We offer you any anger or frustration they feel towards the person who is living with illness.
If someone has treated someone with CFS/ME without kindness, guide them to ask for and receive your forgiveness.
Strengthen a family member or friend to be able to deal with the
changes that the illness brings to their own life.
We see these people drawing on your strength and finding out that your strength never fails.
God, pour out your blessings on all those with a family
member or friend with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
Nurture them. Support them.
We see them finding the strength to be the person they want to be.
We thank you for all those who help or find kindness in their hearts.
We ask that a friend or family member of someone with CFS /ME is blessed with the pleasure of loving, the pleasure of being of service, and the pleasure of a life in which they claim the power to make a difference to the life of another.
Guide them to see the person and not just the illness.
Guide them to receive the gifts that the person with CFS/ME has to offer.
Thank you God.
Wishing you healing both within and beyond illness,
Katherine T Owen
